Manus Island Church Plant

As many may know I talked about DS Gabriel and the Manus Island church plant while we were home on furlough this past summer.  Two weeks ago I had a chance to talk with him while I was in the city of Lae.  I wanted to know the latest on the church plants taking place.   Here are a few new facts for you.   Instead of one there are actually two churches planted on Manus.  The Melanesia Nazarene Bible College as part of their education and training has their ministerial students do an internship as church planters.  So some of the students traveled to Manus to help start the Nazarene Church there.  One of those students was Chaplain Moses, one of the Nazarene Hospitals chaplains.  Another bit of exciting news that DS Gabriel shared was that eight women from the church plant were coming to the huge Nazarene Meri (women's) Conference.  The Manus church is barely months old and eight women were making the trip, and it is quite a trip, to the Southern Highlands to be apart of their new churches women's conference.  Praise the Lord!  Our God is an amazing God!  Check back for more on this great story.
