My O.T. Exegesis Classmates



As some of you may know I am working on a Course Of Study towards the ultimate goal of ordination.  It has been fun and interesting. I feel this is the path the Lord would have me to take at this time and I appreciate all those who have helped me get started on this new adventure.  Dr. Silvernail, the principle of MNBC, (Melanesia Nazarene Bible College) has done a great job of helping me get all my courses planned out and started.  I received from my home district (East Ohio) the list of courses needed to complete a course of study and Dr. Silvernail was able to match them to various courses that the Bible college offers and through some extension classes also.  I have taken a couple Masters level courses, an On-Line class from NBC in Colorado and two of three so far from MNBC.  With those classes and credit I received from undergraduate classes and a couple of seminary classes taken in pre-field training I am almost to the half way point in completing my course work.  My family has been a great support through these classes, because at times they keep me very busy.  It has been quite an adventure and there is still plenty to go!  It has been a wonderful privilege being in class and working together with my PNG brothers and sisters here.  All of us learning from each other.  All of us working together to be better prepared for serving our Great and Awesome Lord.  Last week (Oct. 8th) I finished my second of three classes in a row, Old Testament Exegesis.  It was a good class and my teacher, Dorthy Anda, was a graduate from our Seminary in Brisbane, Australia. Dorthy, in the picture below, is in pink sitting on the right side of the photo.  The group photo minus myself is my Old Testament Exegesis class.  This week I start my third class, Incarnational Leadership.  Areas that I would ask you to help us lift to the Lord in prayer are, for all the students of MNBC and for the teachers who are instructing our future pastors here in Papua New Guinea.  For me, please, as I work through these classes and learn all that I need to know to be a more effective preacher for the Lord's work.  For the family as they support me in my studies. Finally, for the various expenses involved in continuing education including class fees and travel to and from the Bible College each day.  Our God is great and greatly to be praised!
